Gen 32:28 NHEB Then he said, “Your name will no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.”
Gen 32:30 NHEB So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life has been preserved.”
It’s another Monday. Thank God for life. This morning, I have a witness that God is visiting our past and bringing healing to your spirit, soul, and body. Emotional healing is happening in your life as we look at the life of Jacob. His past was brought to his face as he looked at the reality of meeting his brother Esau again. He had stolen his brother’s birthright and escaped from him for a longtime. Whatever your past experiences are, there is healing for you. It may or may not be in relationships. Just allow the Holy spirit do His work. Look inwards.
Prayer points
- Let us thank God for today and ask God to have His way in us. Invite God to your emotions, the past that may hunt you or that you have buried but unhealed. That God will pour His rain on you.
- Pray that God will visit you indeed and let Him cause you to prevail over this phase and every area of your life. Let your name change like Jacob! Your name is your identity.
- May you have a tangible testimony, so you can say in vs 32. I have seen God face to face.
- Thank God for what He is doing in you. The Word is working and your life and future are preserved.
